Our Volunteer Team is the lifeblood of our organization. Simply, we could not accomplish our goals without the support of the community and those who volunteer their time and skills.
Save Our Cats and Kittens operates largely by the hard work of our volunteers. No matter your experience or skillset, you have what we need - time and passion!
While volunteering and working with animals is fun, it is important to keep in mind the characteristics of great volunteers - energetic, flexible, imaginative and creative, reliable and committed, selfless, passionate, and teamwork.
Cat Taxi
Volunteers in this position assist with transporting cats to and from the Shelter for a variety of reasons. This volunteer must be licensed with a good driving record and must be able to handle cats independently.
Donations
This position assists in the Thrift Store, aiding with the intake, inspection of, placement and pricing of physical donations.
General Admin
This administrative position will assist the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Facility Managers with filing, database management, and many other necessary functions.
Foster Care
Foster volunteers are very special individuals willing to house cats and kittens until they are ready for adoption. This person must have appropriate living conditions and will be undergo a thorough application and interview process. Click here for more information.
Marketing
From managing social media to graphic design and photography to newsletter preparation and more, this volunteer group must be creative and adhere to strict deadlines and branding guidelines to promote SOCKS to local communities and organizations.
Special Events
Fundraising and educational events are a large part of the success of our organization. The Special Events volunteers will assist in the planning, set-up, and execution of these important community events.
